What's new in MonsoonSIM Version 10 [Easier to Teach and Easier to Learn]!

Curious about MonsoonSIM’s new version 10?  Wondering how this is built especially with our teachers and students in mind? What new features and surprises are in store?

MonsoonSIM’s Mission

To start with, MonsoonSIM’s main priority has always centered around this motto: “Easier to teach,  Easier to learn, More to teach, More to learn.”

Since our first launch in 2012, we have continuously developed our MonsoonSIM platform with that same priority. These new features of Version 10, which is designed for improved configuration, utilization, and performance, have been over a decade in the making.

Improved Ease of Use

Improved User Interface

MonsoonSIM’s improved user interface increases flexibility for learners, allowing them to choose an alternate from the traditional screen in Version 9, or the new side-by-side screen in Version 10 (50% KPI box, 50% Transaction Box). Chat boxes are also placed in a new location to ensure better visibility and accessibility. All the market reports, service bids, e-commerce, and alert messages have new looks and are just a finger’s click away!

 

 

Upgraded Configurations

Pre-Configuration Parameters

The pre-configuration parameters will give better control and autonomy for teachers and facilitators. Teachers now have the power to configure and set the business configure their business environment before the class or during the game. 

For example, teachers can schedule to activate a module, or a setting on a specific date, such as picking a vendor on a different day. Teachers can even set breaks that automatically resume afterwards. What’s more, all these pre-configurations in the “roadmap”  can be saved, opened, and activated any time you need!

 

New Features

Manpower Planning

In the Human Capital Management module, we’ve added the Manpower Planning. This new feature allows facilitators to configure and decide a capacity limit of the retail staff. For example, One staff can be set to handle a maximum of 1000 units sold. 

This allows a more realistic approach to human resource management, for example, taking into account pre-hiring decisions for an upcoming holiday period and its spikes in demand, or any other factors that would affect retail sales and in turn, the staff capacity needed to support that. Note, this feature is by default, turned off. 

B2B Offer Research & Shipping Costs

The B2B Offer Research feature enables users to see when new B2B offers to arrive in the form of notifications. Clicking on them will expand the offers. Additionally, the B2B shipping costs are now made more representative of real-world business transactions, considering more cost factors. Now, the cost of shipping to B2B customers will be based on shipper, distance, and volume.

 

Enhanced Performance

Transaction Auto-Update

MonsoonSIM Version 10 also introduces a new Micro chart equipped with live updates. True to the dynamic, often-changing environment that real-world businesses are situated in, this Micro chart with live updates is an opportunity for learners to practice interpreting data in real-time. They’ll need to quickly adapt their business practices and decisions accordingly. New transactions by teammates, new offers, and HR staff status appears and updates automatically!

The transactions in the platform also have a new status of “In Progress”. Along with the statuses of “Requested”, “Approved” and “Completed” after a transaction has been decided and made, the “In Progress” status gives a clearer insight into a rental, marketing, auto-replenishment, and more.

While these new developments are certainly exciting, MonsoonSIM Version 10 offers more than just these new features. As a unique experiential learning platform, we at MonsoonSIM work to make learning business processes both engaging and integrative.
