MERMC (MonsoonSIM Enterprise Resource Management Competition) is an annual inter-varsity competition hosted by MonsoonSIM and its partners. This yearly event dynamically involves students and educators with the objective of exposing students to the concept of ERM through fun and exciting simulation games.
The Grand Finals for the MERMC 2021 is off to a great start after last week’s Opening Ceremony, which marks the beginning of the international championship. Attended by over 35 finalist teams of remarkable MonsoonSIM players (which were made up of the top 3-4 winning teams from each participating country or region), their experienced coaches, esteemed keynote speakers and distinguished judges, the MERMC 2021 Opening Ceremony was both lively and exciting for all the participants.
After a brilliant welcome speech by Mr. Didi Gunawan, the Head of MERMC, and the warm introductions led by the host, Ms. Vania Cheryl, this opening ceremony had also featured several distinguished speakers who gave inspiring insights into business simulation, educational technology, experiential learning, entrepreneurial spirit, and of course, motivational words for our competing finalists.
Among these speakers, MonsoonSIM welcomed Mr. Bengt Nilsson (CEO & President of Pagero Group), Mr. Pete Jenkins (International gamification consultant, mentor, speaker, trainer and lecturer), and Ms. Swandajani Gunadi (Human Capital & Marketing Director of Adira Finance). MERMC 2021’s distinguished judges, Dr. Scott Dell (Assistant professor of Accounting, Francis Marion University, Florence, South Carolina) and Mr. Eric Christian Soeseno (Commercial Sales Manager at L’Oréal, MERMC 2015 Champion & ADIRA Innocamp 2018 Champion) also had their turn in the spotlight to share a few encouragements and pearls of wisdom to the participants.
