We are proud to announce and warmly welcome Universiti Sains Malaysia in joining our MonsoonSIM family!
MonsoonSIM's Integration into University Curriculum
Universiti Sains Malaysia is the second oldest university of Malaysia, founded in 1969 under the name Universiti Pulau Pinang. Offering a wide range of courses from Natural Sciences, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Social Sciences, Building Science and Technology and more at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels, Universiti Sains Malaysia has over 30,000 students within its 17 Academic Schools on the main campus in Penang, 6 Schools at the Engineering Campus in Nibong Tebal and 3 Schools at the Health Campus in Kubang Kerian, Kelantan.
MonsoonSIM would also like to welcome our facilitator from USM, Hasliza Abdul Halim, Ph.D., who is an associate professor at the School of Management and is an experienced lecturer on subjects such as Strategic Management, Management, Organizational Behaviour, Organizational Theory, and others. With her PhD concentrated on utilizing and delivering the business strategy and human resource activities through outsourcing, Hasliza is certainly a wonderful addition to MonsoonSIM’s network of facilitators worldwide.
With over 17 dedicated research centers for an array of specializations, among them management studies, USM has adopted the school system rather than traditional faculty system since its foundation. USM focuses on ensuring that their students are multi-disciplined in other areas of study by other schools, and this integrative approach towards education parallels with MonsoonSIM, which demonstrates the integration of ERP systems.

Furthermore, MonsoonSIM is part of USM’s curriculum this 21st century, under the subject of Strategic Management (undergraduate level) and Collaborative Foresight (postgraduate level for Masters in Business Analytics). Not only will MonsoonSIM encourage active engagement within the classes, but unlike traditional lectures or hands-on training, the educational gamification platform will push students to be more actively involved in the learning process, from reading and processing the game content, formulating problems to discussing solutions and making decisions. In fact, MonsoonSIM provides these students the opportunity to utilize their knowledge within the various scenarios available in the business games.
With countless business concepts crucial and fundamental to trading, distribution, eCommerce, manufacturing and service businesses globally, the MonsoonSIM platform prepares students by presenting these concepts in the form of a comprehensive business simulation with thirteen interconnected business departments.
