How can accounting educators design experiential activities that are both engaging and academically defensible?
In this faculty conversation, Ivy Munoko (Fisher School of Accounting , Warrington College of Business, University of Florida) will reflect on how interactive elements are intentionally embedded within her accounting courses, and how experiential design can support clearly articulated learning objectives.
The discussion will explore:
The teaching context of accounting at Warrington — including course structure and learning expectations
How classroom activities are designed to promote active decision-making
How experiential components align with Outcome-Based Education frameworks
How simulation environments can make student reasoning and performance observable for assessment and reflection
This session is intended for accounting educators and academic leaders interested in integrating experiential learning in ways that remain aligned with curriculum design, program-level goals, and continuous improvement processes.
