Join our panel of speakers as they share how they navigate "VUCA" & provide effective Experiential Learning of ERP with MonsoonSIM.


"VUCA" is a widely used management term to describe Volatility, Uncertainty, Complexity, and Ambiguity. Is this generation of graduates prepared to deal with VUCA? Can they adapt to the ever-changing economic landscape and job market? We as educators have the responsibility to offer innovative teachings that will give these graduates the skills to adapt. 


MonsoonSIM is a dynamic, configurable ERP business simulation platform that can facilitate deep experiential learnings easily in classrooms, or remotely. MonsoonSIM can simulate the VUCA business environment which pushes teamwork and critical thinking.

  • 2.30 pm to 3.00 pm - A brief overview of the MonsoonSIM Business Simulation for ERP learning. 
  • 3.00 pm to 3.45 pm - Dr. Jonathan Leong from SUSS will present Experiential Learning and how he practices it with MonsoonSIM, to navigate this VUCA world.
  • 3.45 pm to 4.15 pm - Dr. Choo Peng Yin from UTAR will share the importance of interpreting reports to plan and implement business strategies and how MonsoonSIM is used in his IT Business course
  • 4.15 pm to 4.30  pm - Q&A.

Alex Ong


Alex has been a trainer for MonsoonSIM since 2014. Alex has over 20 years of ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) experience and over 5 years of Train-The-Trainer program using MonsoonSIM for educators across the region. He is currently heading the MonsoonSIM operation for Malaysia and Singapore.


Dr. Jonathan Leong 

Topic: Experiential Learning & MonsoonSIM

Jonathan Leong, a senior lecturer at Singapore University of Social Sciences (SUSS) , has spent the last few years of his education career delving into the details of Experiential Learning Theory, applying them in his teaching, and along with his colleagues, has devised a novel framework to assist both educator and learner alike in their experiential learning journey, for the purpose of portability of skills, to combat the ever-rapidly-changing environment. He has applied these techniques on qualitative and quantitative courses alike, in sciences and humanities, and has led students on overseas experiential learning courses as part of the investigative venture. Dr. Choo Peng Yin 

Topic: Bridging MonsoonSIM and ERP Learning

Dr. Choo Peng Yin currently serves as the Deputy Dean of Industrial Training and Student Development in the Faculty of ICT of UTAR, Kampar campus, since 2009. Though he was trained as a computer & electrical engineer, he is now assigned by UTAR to design a new degree in Digital Economy that has a close syllabus collaboration with the industries. His current research interest lies with effective online customer engagement. Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman (UTAR), Malaysia. UTAR has been using MonsoonSIM as the core introduction to ERP learning, with two subjects, IT and business students.


MonsoonSIM is implemented in institutions of higher learning around the world including:
