The 5th Annual (1st in Hong Kong) International MonsoonSIM ERP competition concluded last weekend on a high note! It is worth a mention that our participants braved the social conditions in Hong Kong and were totally focused on the competition.
A total of 26 teams from 8 countries converged on the campus of The Hong Kong Polytechnic University at 08:30 am Saturday, 10th August. All our participants were pumped up with high spirit and great enthusiasm on arrival, and they comprised teams from the Philippines, Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, and our gracious host Hong Kong. We welcomed newcomers of China and Australia to join us this year. Each team was eyeing for the Champion Prize of HK$26,000 from the total Prize money of nearly HK$70,000 plus trophies and medals!

10 Aug 2019
The Game Program for the day began. With the team members sorted, each team introduced themselves and showed us their team name, slogan, where they're from as well as their objective in joining the competition. It was very interesting to note that their main objective, other than winning the Championship and Prize by wanting to perform their best in this Business Simulation Competition, was there for the sake of Experiential Learning!
With that introduction, the competition started with Round 1 in the morning followed by Round 2 after a deserving lunch for everyone.
Our competitors were cautious in the scoring matrix and congregated to discuss their strategies based on the given KPIs -- Net Profit, Profit Margin, etc. that became the minimum criteria set for the teams to proceed to the next level.
We witnessed the teams worked hard, with lots of low-pitched communications and teamwork to produce the best achievable outcomes from the configurations of the day.
At the end of the first day, 10 teams were shortlisted to the Grand Final round, and 16 teams to the Adventure round.
